2. United States Service
Sleepy Time Tales is currently offered only to users located in the United States. The service is not intended to be offered in other countries or jurisdictions.
3. Parent-Directed Service
Sleepy Time Tales is designed for adults who are parents or legal guardians. A person must be at least 18 years old to create an account, provide information about a child, generate a sample story, or purchase a subscription.
Children are not permitted to:
- Create accounts;
- Complete the personalized-story form;
- Provide their own information directly to us;
- Submit support requests;
- Purchase subscriptions; or
- Independently use the account dashboard.
Children may listen to or read stories with the involvement and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
Before submitting child information, the adult user must confirm that the adult is at least 18 years old and is the parent or legal guardian of the child whose information is being provided.
4. Information We Collect
A. Parent or Account Information
Depending on how you use the service, we may collect:

- Selected story-delivery time;
- Subscription status;
- Transaction and billing-related records received from Stripe;
- Support requests and communications;
- Marketing-email preferences;
- Cancellation information;
- Information needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service; and
- Other information you voluntarily provide to us.
Stripe processes payment-card information. Sleepy Time Tales does not directly receive or store full payment-card numbers or card security codes.
B. Child-Profile Information Provided by a Parent
A parent or legal guardian may provide limited information to personalize stories, including:
- First name or nickname;
- Age;
- Pronouns or gender, when voluntarily provided;
- Favorite animals;
- Interests and hobbies;
- Personality traits;
- First names or roles of family members, when voluntarily provided;
- Story themes and preferences;
- Christian themes or general moral-values preferences; and
- Other limited information entered by the parent into an open-ended personalization field.
Parents should provide only information reasonably necessary to personalize a story.
Please do not provide:
- A child’s last name;
- Exact date of birth;
- Home address;
- School or daycare name;
- Precise location;
- Medical, disability, or health information;
- Government identification numbers;

C. Free Sample Information
When a parent generates a free personalized sample story, we may collect:
- An anonymous browser identifier;
- A sample-story identifier;
- The child’s first name or nickname;
- Age;
- Favorite animal;
- Selected interest or theme;
- The generated sample story;
- Campaign or UTM attribution information;
- General browser, device, network, and diagnostic information; and
- Information necessary to prevent misuse or excessive sample generation.
The anonymous browser identifier is stored in the visitor’s browser. Our server stores a cryptographic hash of that identifier rather than the raw token.
We do not intentionally store raw IP addresses in the sample-story database, although hosting, security, and infrastructure providers may temporarily process IP addresses and similar technical data when providing their services.
D. Automatically Collected Information
When you visit or use the service, we and our service providers may automatically process:
- IP address;
- Browser and device type;
- Operating system;
- Referring page;
- Pages or screens viewed;
- Date and time of access;
- General interaction and conversion events;
- Cookie and local-storage identifiers;
- Approximate location derived from an IP address;
- Error, performance, and security information; and
- Advertising campaign attribution.
We do not intentionally include child names, child ages, child interests, complete stories, email addresses, or child-profile information in advertising or analytics event payloads.
5. How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- Generate personalized bedtime stories;
- Display and deliver sample stories;
- Deliver nightly stories to the parent’s email address;
- Store subscription stories in the family’s account archive;
- Create and manage parent and child profiles;
- Authenticate users;
- Process subscriptions and payments;
- Provide account, security, billing, and service communications;
- Send trial reminders;
- Respond to support requests;
- Prevent fraud, misuse, duplicate trials, and excessive sample generation;
- Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service;
- Measure advertising and website-funnel performance;
- Attribute registrations and subscriptions to advertising campaigns;
- Send marketing communications when the recipient has opted in;
- Send cancellation-recovery offers, subject to applicable email requirements and unsubscribe preferences;
- Enforce our Terms of Service; and
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not currently use customer stories or child-profile information to train our own artificial-intelligence model.
6. Artificial-Intelligence Processing
Sleepy Time Tales uses artificial-intelligence services, including the OpenAI API, to generate stories from information submitted by parents.
Information necessary to create a story may be sent to the artificial-intelligence provider for processing. This may include the child’s first name or nickname, age, interests, selected preferences, and story instructions.
Parents should not enter sensitive or unnecessary information into story-personalization fields.
Artificial-intelligence providers may process information according to their applicable business-service terms and data-processing practices. Sleepy Time Tales does not use the consumer ChatGPT application to generate customer stories unless expressly stated otherwise.
7. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose information to service providers that help us operate the service, including:
- Lovable or Lovable Cloud, for application development or hosting services;
- Supabase, for database, authentication, storage, and backend services;
- OpenAI, for artificial-intelligence story generation;
- Stripe, for payment processing, subscription management, and billing;
- Resend, for transactional and story-delivery emails;
- Meta, for consented advertising, conversion measurement, and campaign attribution;
- Cloudflare, for domain, network, security, or content-delivery services;
- Google, when a user chooses Google Sign-In or other enabled Google services;
- Zoho, for business email or related communication services;
- Professional advisers, contractors, or vendors who assist with security, support, accounting, legal compliance, or operations; and
- Government authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or the integrity of the service.
Providers may process information only for the services they provide and subject to their own applicable agreements and legal obligations.
We may also disclose information as part of a business transfer, such as a merger, financing, sale, restructuring, or acquisition, subject to appropriate protections and notice where required.
8. Cookies, Local Storage, and Advertising
Essential Technologies
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies necessary to:
- Keep users signed in;
- Secure accounts;
- Maintain session and authentication state;
- Remember privacy preferences;
- Store the anonymous sample identifier;
- Retrieve a previously generated sample;
- Preserve campaign attribution; and
- Operate essential website functions.
Essential technologies cannot be disabled through the cookie-settings tool when they are necessary to provide a requested service.
Analytics and Advertising Technologies
With the visitor’s consent, we may use Meta Pixel and similar technologies to:
- Measure visits and advertising conversions;
- Understand whether an advertisement resulted in a sample, registration, checkout, or subscription;
- Create or measure advertising audiences; and
- Deliver or improve targeted advertising.
These providers may receive limited technical and interaction information, such as an IP address, browser or device identifier, referring information, consented page interactions, and generic funnel events.
We do not intentionally send Meta or another advertising provider:
- Child names;
- Child ages;
- Child interests;
- Child-profile fields;
- Story titles or story text;
- Email addresses;
- Payment-card information;
- Sample tokens; or
- Internal child or story record identifiers.
Advertising technologies will not be activated until the visitor affirmatively consents through the privacy-preference interface, except where applicable law permits otherwise and the implementation has been configured accordingly.
Visitors may withdraw consent or change their choices through the “Cookie Settings” or “Your Privacy Choices” link available on the website.
We also honor legally recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, where applicable.
9. Sale and Sharing of Personal Information
Sleepy Time Tales does not sell personal information for money.
Our use of advertising technologies may be considered “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under certain state privacy laws. This may include limited technical identifiers and website-interaction information disclosed to Meta after consent.
You may opt out of this advertising-related disclosure by:
- Selecting “Reject Non-Essential” in the privacy banner;
- Disabling advertising cookies in Cookie Settings;
- Using the “Your Privacy Choices” link; or
- Enabling a legally recognized browser-based opt-out signal, where supported.
We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of children for targeted advertising.
10. Marketing Emails
Essential account, billing, security, subscription, and story-delivery communications are part of the service and are not treated as optional marketing messages.
We send promotional offers, product announcements, bedtime ideas, and other marketing emails only when the recipient has opted in or where otherwise permitted by law.
Marketing emails include an unsubscribe method. Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not stop necessary service, billing, security, or story-delivery communications.
We may send a cancellation-recovery offer, such as a limited discount, subject to applicable law and the recipient’s marketing preferences. A recipient may unsubscribe at any time.
11. Children’s Privacy
Sleepy Time Tales is intended for parents and legal guardians, not for direct use by children.
We do not knowingly ask children under 13 to submit personal information directly to us. Child information is intended to be provided and controlled by a parent or legal guardian.
Parents control the child profiles associated with their accounts and may request access, correction, or deletion by emailing info@sleepytimetales.com from the account email address.
If we learn that a child submitted personal information directly without appropriate parent or guardian involvement, we will take reasonable steps to delete the information.
We minimize the child information requested and prohibit parents from submitting unnecessary sensitive information.
Parents should supervise children when stories are read or viewed and should not provide children with unsupervised access to the parent’s account.
12. De-Identified Story Excerpts
We may use short, de-identified excerpts from generated stories to demonstrate the service or for marketing.
Before using an excerpt, we will remove:
- Child and family names;
- Account information;
- Contact information;
- Unique personal details;
- Sensitive information; and
- Information that could reasonably be used to identify a child or household.
We will not use a child’s photograph, full profile, testimonial, or identifiable story without separate permission.
You may request that we not use de-identified excerpts associated with your account by emailing info@sleepytimetales.com.
13. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the service, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, preventing fraud, and complying with legal obligations.
Our intended retention practices include:
- Anonymous, unclaimed sample stories: up to 24 hours;
- Failed or abandoned sample reservations: up to 24 hours;
- Active account information, child profiles, and archived stories: while the account remains active;
- Information following subscription cancellation: up to 90 days, unless the account is reactivated, deleted earlier at the parent’s request, or retention is legally required;
- Deleted child profiles and their associated stories: removed from active systems after a valid deletion request or completed in-account deletion;
- Deleted accounts and associated child content: removed from active systems after verification and processing;
- Security and diagnostic logs: generally up to 90 days;
- Support communications: generally up to two years;
- Financial, tax, and transaction records: generally up to seven years or as legally required; and
- Backup copies: generally overwritten or deleted within approximately 30 days, subject to technical limitations and disaster-recovery processes.
Stripe and other service providers may retain transaction or compliance records under their own legal obligations and retention policies.
14. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Know whether we process your personal information;
- Request access to information associated with your account;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Delete an account, child profile, or associated stories;
- Obtain a portable copy of certain information;
- Opt out of targeted advertising or advertising-related sharing;
- Withdraw consent for non-essential cookies;
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails; and
- Appeal a denied privacy request where required by law.
To submit a request, email info@sleepytimetales.com from the email address associated with the account.
We may request information necessary to verify the requester’s identity and relationship to the account.
We aim to acknowledge privacy and deletion requests within 10 business days and will complete them within the period required by applicable law.
We will not unlawfully discriminate against a person for exercising a privacy right.
15. Account and Child-Profile Deletion
Parents may delete a child profile or entire account through available account controls or by contacting us.
Deleting a child profile will also delete stories associated with that profile from active systems, subject to temporary backup retention and legal requirements.
Deleting an account will terminate access to the service and initiate deletion of associated child profiles and story content.
Billing or tax records may be retained separately when required for legitimate business or legal purposes.
16. Information Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information.
These measures may include:
- Encryption in transit;
- Restricted server-side access;
- Authentication controls;
- Database access policies;
- Hashed anonymous identifiers;
- Limited service-provider access;
- Rate limiting;
- Monitoring and logging; and
- Data-minimization practices.
No internet service or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and notifying us of suspected unauthorized access.
17. Third-Party Services and Links
The service may contain links to or integrations with third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices and agreements.
We encourage users to review the privacy practices of Stripe, OpenAI, Supabase, Meta, Google, Resend, Cloudflare, and any other provider they choose to interact with.
18. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, practices, providers, or legal obligations change.
We will post the updated Policy with a revised “Last Updated” date. When a change is material, we may also provide notice through the website, account, or email.
